    Description

    This superb 1980 Bahamas Silver dollar conch shell beach coin is already a rare sight. We noticed when we were putting it in the holder that the rims are high and stand out above the coin by nearly a millimeter over the coins normal strike height.
    Quite an amazing specimen. We've never seen any other coins of this type with this type of error. Longacre's describes this type of error as a heavy over strike or a high pressure over strike.
    Whenever the pressure of the coins Die is too much it leaves high over struck sharp rim edges all around the coin. We had a modern S mint Kennedy silver proof with this type of error in our shop a few years back and
    that's the only type of other coin that we've ever seen with this type of error.
    There was a very limited mintage for 1980 maybe a couple thousand of these were made or less.
    This is a one-of-a-kind rare proof Silver Dollar Error coin and there are no others like it in existence.
